Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is a day for dedicating a portion of holiday shopping to local, independently-owned small businesses.  Celebrate the Shop Small™ movement with us on Small Business Saturday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.

Our local effort is a partnership with the Peabody Area Chamber, The Salem News, Facebook, and American Express.  As a small business owner, you are automatically part of the movement!

The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce’s engagement is seen through the membership posting “Hot Deal” coupons on the Chamber’s website, here.  Dozens of coupons are available for local community members and visitors to print and bring in to stores on Small Business Saturday (as well as other days throughout the year) to enjoy savings and support the local economy.  Offers range from retail to restaurants to many services, that are perfect for gift giving.

Small Business Saturday helps bring communities together to show support for the small business owner.  This campaign is an excellent way to remind area residents about the advantages of shopping at our local businesses and celebrate everything you do to support our community.  Last year, millions of Americans, shopped at independently-owned small businesses on Small Business Saturday. We invite you to help make the day even bigger for small business.

Here are ways you can help support Small Business Saturday:

As a resident, Shop Small Business Saturday: By shopping at an indepependlty owned, local business you are showing your support and creating goodwill within the communities where you work and live. Make a day of it by shopping with friends and dining out at your favorite small restaurants.

As an independent business owner, make the day your own: Small businesses are known for having outstanding customer service and offering unique products. Think about having special promotions and join forces with neighboring small businesses to create a block party or holiday event. Don’t forget to leverage Small Business Saturday marketing tools on www.facebook.com/shopsmall.

Participate in the Co-op Advertising coordinated by the Peabody Area Chamber featuring local businesses.
